- BBC Proms in the Park promo
As part of NS&I's sponsorship of BBC's Proms in the Park
their agency EHS Brann conceived the 'dandelion' promo.
A multi screen piece, which streamed across television screens
on the London Underground - it depicts a young girl blowing
a dandelion, as the seeds fly through the air they begin to
change into musical notes and land on a stave.
Sandstorm were asked to provide a technical and visual solution
to make the pitch come to life: this was achieved by filming
the girl on film with a dandelion stalk (no seeds), CGI seeds
were then tracked and animated so that every seed movement and
weight could be completely controlled.
The full length of the video was 10 seconds across 5 screens.
Completed across one week, the project was a huge success on
every level, a project with a great concept that made a true
impact. Even though very few people knew we had worked on this
project we received a huge number of calls from people who had
seen the screens on their way to work.
